Black Girls CODE

EQUIPPING A MOVEMENT TO EMPOWER TOMORROW'S INNOVATORS IN TECHNOLOGY

Thank you so much for diving into our organizational issues and uncovering some of the things that keep me up at night. I truly value your insights. —Kimberly Bryant, Founder & Executive Director, Black Girls CODE

Kimberly Bryant started Black Girls CODE in 2011 so her daughter would have a supportive space to develop her passion for computer science and coding. Since then, Black Girls CODE has grown into a network of chapters stretching from San Francisco to Johannesburg, and its award-winning programs have empowered thousands of girls of color to pursue their interests and futures in technology. In addition to teaching in-demand STEM skills, Black Girls CODE’s workshops, hackathons, and summer camps provide students with the self-confidence, sense of belonging, and social capital to become innovators and leaders in 21st-century fields.
